Good and tasy product - but price is lot higher now. August 31, 2010 Sunny (Naperville, IL USA) My 2 stars are not for the product as such. The hot dogs are very good and offer an excellent alternative. However, I don't buy these from Amazon anymore as the price has increased dramatically over the last year or so. I used to get these for around $45 with subscriptions and the same price is now around $65. I can find cheaper then that from a local store.
loma .linda big franks July 5, 2010 mary My family loves the Loma Linda Big Franks. They are easy to take to other cook outs and taste great too.
Great for camping July 5, 2010 distance runner Really nice for bringining camping. If you are looking for hot dogs for grilling, however, try the frozen Morningstar Veggie Dog product -- for our taste, Big Franks are much better at room temperature. Price-wise, buying through Amazon is less expensive than at our local health food shop -- not even factoring in the free shipping vs. gas used to physically go to the store. Soy-based "meat" products can often be a hit or miss affair, but my family has consistently found the LL Big Franks product to be on the tasier side of the spectrum (even through several manufacturer recipie modifications).
Great product July 2, 2010 Larry Martin (Vero Beach, FL) I owned a health food store 29 years ago and started eating this product. I have five children that grew up eating them. It was their favorite food. I sold my business over 20 years ago, and had not had them for many years. While visiting my son in Atlanta last year, he had a case of them he had bought on the internet. They tasted better than I had rememberd them. I now buy a case every two months. I still have two boys at home and they love them. They're quick and easy to make. We put sourkraut or vegetarian chili on them. We cook them on the grill. We cut them in pieces & marinade them with onions, mushroooms, green and red peppers, and grill them as shish-ka-bob. They are nutritious and a huge part of our diet. Five stars for this product.
Taste really good as a meat subsititute. May 12, 2010 Victor Wang (Chicago) These taste great right out of the can or fried up. Though the consistency is a little soft and it sort of falls apart if you're not careful.
