2 out of 5 stars contains iron -- may be difficult to digest   March 3, 2010

These vitamins contain non-heme iron, which is iron that is not derived from animal sources. This is great if you are a vegan, however, non-heme iron is more difficult to absorb, often resulting in constipation. My husband and I took these vitamins regularly for about 2 weeks and felt very ill the whole time. Usually taking vitamin C will help your body absorb iron, but it did not in our case. The amounts are simply too concentrated, even if they are chelated.

We stopped taking these supplements and switched to a multi that doesn't contain iron, and we feel MUCH better now. I also did some research on how to get enough iron from my diet, and discovered that spinach, tofu, soybeans, and tempeh are excellent sources. If you have the same reaction to iron supplements, try switching supplements and incorporating more iron-rich foods into your diet. A great source of nutritional info that I use is World's Healthiest Foods at [...]

These are my favorite vegan vitamins. The price is right and I felt more energy from these. Was having trouble with my hair thinning out since I stated taking these vitamins with iron I notice a big difference. My hair seems thicker than it has been in years! thanks!

5 out of 5 stars Great Vitamins   November 29, 2009

These are great vitamins. They smell a little funny but all the Deva products do. It's a small discomfort for some excellent vegan vitamins. I also suggest the Deva hair, skin, and nails vitamins. The 2 pack is a great buy. It will last a long time!

Most of the vegan vitamins I find have you taking up to six a day! I love these because you only take one a day. Plus the price is much lower compared to the more popular brands.

5 out of 5 stars Decent price, good quality, nice stuff!   March 24, 2009

It can be hard to find good reasonably priced vegetarian vitamins but I really like these. Plus, one pill = 1 daily serving unlike some vitamins. We're sold on these.
